Waratahs lock Timani, 26, was reported by match commissioner Freek Burger following the 13th-minute incident.
The time and date of Timani's disciplinary hearing has yet to be confirmed.
Australia saw Timani's fellow second-row Rob Simmons receive an eight-week suspension earlier this month after he was cited for a dangerous tackle in the Wallabies' appointment with France.
Simmons, though, is to appeal the ban.
