Munster coach Tony McGahan is set to return to Australia at the end of the season to work with the Wallabies.

McGahan: Looks set to take up Wallabies role

McGahan initially arrived at Thomond Park in 2005 as defence coach before going on to take over the reins from Declan Kidney three years later.

McGahan had been offered a contract extension by Munster but it appears he has rejected the deal - with reports that he has already informed his squad of his decision.

And the 37-year-old Queenslander is expected to take up the position of defence coach in the Australia team under Robbie Deans.
