Manu Tuilagi has apologised for his behaviour at the Rugby World Cup after he was fined twice by England for wearing a sponsored gum shield and jumping off a ferry in Auckland just one day after losing in the quarter-finals to France.

Speaking at his home, Leicester Tigers centre Tuilagi voiced his regret at his actions and admitted that he feels he let everyone down.

"It was a silly and stupid thing to do," Tuilagi exclusively told Sportsvibe. "I let my family down, the fans and my club Leicester. I just need to learn from it and I am looking forward to playing more rugby."

The 20-year-old was one of the bright sparks for England on the pitch, but the team's performances failed to live up to expectations and Tuilagi admitted he was 'very disappointed to be back home’.

"I believed in myself and I believed in the team. We had such a good team and I thought we were going to win but we didn’t play, we didn’t perform and we made a lot of mistakes."
