In-form flyhalf Stephen Myler looks set to once again edge out Danny Cipriani for a starting spot in the England Saxons side for the Churchill Cup final after kicking 22 points in the semifinal against the USA.
The Northampton star has continued his good club form at the international 'A' level and, after playing a key part in the Saxons 56-17 win, will more than likely be the man tasked with leading the attack against Ireland A this weekend.
Cipriani of course struggled throughout the recent season and, despite having started the first game against the Argentina Jaguars, found himself on the bench for the game against the USA in Denver.
Myler though refuses to allow himself to get too carried away. Speaking after the game to the Northampton Chronicle and Echo, the 24 year-old said he was happy just doing his job when called upon to do so for the team.
"Kicking the points is part of my job description and I'm really looking forward to the final.
"My job is dependent on the pack of forwards and we ran in a few tries which was pleasing, especially after last week against Argentina.
"We tried to put that behind us and in training we identified a few things that we need to resolve and I think that showed in our performance against USA."
