Armitage: Cited

Armitage will now appear before Independent Judicial Officer Bruce Squire QC of New Zealand following the incident, with the offence carrying a guideline suspension of between two and 10 weeks, or matches in the World Cup context.

France have also had a player cited, with Fabrice Estebanez to face the disciplinary chiefs following a dangerous tackle on Joseph Tuineau.

Estebanez was sin-binned for the tip tackle on Tongan replacement during the 19-14 Pool A defeat.

Estebanez's case will be heard by the Independent Judicial Officer Christopher Quinlan QC of England.

Tonga's Sukanaialu Hufanga was also cited for a similar tackle in the first half of the shock result - with referee Steve Walsh having punished the winger with a yellow card.
