Italy have run into injury problems ahead of their RBS 6 Nations clash against England at Twickenham next month.
The Azzurri crashed to a second successive defeat in this season's tournament, going down 26-9 to Wales on Saurday at the Stadio Olimpico.
And Italian pain was not confined solely to the result, with half-backs Kristopher Burton and Edoardo Gori both suffering injuries.
Fly-half Burton has a problem with his right ankle, while Gori stretched medial ligaments in his knee, which could give coach Jacques Brunel cause for concern as he also continues to be without suspended skipper Sergio Parisse.
Parrisse, who is serving a 30-day ban after being sent off for insulting the referee in a French club game, is likely to appeal the punishment, but at the moment he is suspended until March 18.
Reflecting on the Wales result, Brunel said: "We mismanaged the match - we could not put Wales under pressure.
"Wales were very precise, more effective than us, and we were not able to produce the the game that we saw in the November Tests and against France this season."
Leicester prop Martin Castrogiovanni, who took over as skipper from Parisse, summed up a frustrating day for Italy with his second-half yellow card that highlighted Wales' scrum dominance.
While Castrogiovanni was off the pitch, Wales scored their second try from wing Alex Cuthbert that effectively ended the contest.
"We conceded too many penalties in the scrums," Castrogiovanni said. "It's hard, but you have to accept it.
"Now, we have to stand up and start to work hard, because our Six Nations does not end here.
"We have to work hard, starting with our mental approach. Life is made of ups and downs, and we want to get up give our best to finish this tournament. We have the ability, as we have previously demonstrated."
Reflecting on his sin-binning, Castrogiovanni added: "In our sport, the referee is always right.
"We conceded nine points from scrums, which is my problem as well as the team's. I need to work on that.
"There are no excuses. You need to be perfect in all aspects, but we were not.
"I was very honoured to be made captain, but I don't like losing. I hate losing even when I am playing Playstation."
