Manu Tuilagi: Concern from Italy

Italy coach Jacques Brunel is so concerned about the threat of Manu Tuilagi that he joked about locking him in the Twickenham changing rooms.

Tuilagi is England's most potent attacking threat, with 10 tries in his 19 Tests, and his destructive performances were key to the recent victories over New Zealand and France.

After stunning France on the opening weekend of the RBS 6 Nations, Italy lost to Scotland and then folded meekly against Wales in Rome two weekends ago.

And Brunel has demanded an immediate reaction, warning his men they will be on the end of another Twickenham mauling on Sunday unless they mach England's physicality.

"Against Wales we didn't play at the intensity we should have. I don't know whether it was because of tiredness but the attitude wasn't what I expect," Brunel said.

"If we're not at the top of our game physically, if we don't have the desire to face up to the English, it'll be tough and we could concede a lot of points."

Asked whether he has a plan for Tuilagi, Brunel added: "Yes - we won't let him out on the pitch, in fact we'll lock the changing rooms!

"Seriously, though, no-one has yet stopped him. Even Mathieu Bastareaud, who is very powerful, had troubles.

"We have to work as a team and double up on him sometimes when we need to. We need to defend as a team."

Brunel has brought Gonzalo Garcia into the midfield and shifted Gonzalo Canale to start opposite Tuilagi as part of seven changes to the side that lost 26-9 to Wales in Rome's Olympic Stadium.

Luciano Orquera, the architect of Italy's victory over France, is restored at fly-half and Brunel has changed half the pack that were demolished by Wales.

The Azzurri have been boosted by the return of their inspirational captain and number eight Sergio Parisse, who is available after having his suspension for insulting a referee reduced.

In addition to Parisse's return, Robert Barbieri takes over from Simone Favaro at openside flanker and Italy will have a new second partnership of Joshua Furno and Quintin Geldenhuys.

Alberto de Marchi takes over at loosehead prop with Andrea Lo Cicero, who has 101 caps and is one appearance short of setting a new Italian record, dropping to the bench.
