All Blacks star Sonny Bill Williams will re-enter the boxing ring next year to fight for the New Zealand heavyweight title just a few weeks before the Super Rugby season kicks off.

Williams, who has a clause in his New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) contract allowing him to pursue his boxing career, will fight Aucklander Richard Tutaki in Hamilton on February 8.

Williams has fought four times - three of them while contracted with the NZRU and is yet to be beaten. His last fight was in June when he won his fight against sickness beneficiary Alipate Liava'a on a points decision.

The 26-year-old former Rugby League superstar, who played for the Crusaders in the Super Rugby competition this year before forming part of the All Blacks side that won the World Cup in October, has won all four of his professional boxing matches so far, two by knock-out.

His latest bout, against the 33-year-old Tutaki who has a record of 19 wins, 21 losses and one draw, will take place 17 days before Williams makes his Super Rugby debut for the Chiefs .
