Kenya win Africa Cup

Kenya won the Africa Cup on Saturday when they beat Tunisia 16-7 at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi in a Confederation of African Rugby Division 1 match - the only match played in the division.

The other two teams in the division with drew, Morocco because they have no money and Namibia because of the collapse of the whole rugby union. The executive went off to New Zealand on a World Cup junket, came home and then, to a man, resigned. Rugby administration in Namibia continues to be a mess.

That meant that the match between Kenya and Tunisia was the only match and also the Final.

the Tunisians were freely tipped to win and when fullback Marwen Ben Yahya scored an early try, converted by Salim Barhoumi, it seemed that the expectation would be fulfilled, especially as the Tunisian pack was well on top.

Then along came wing Vincent Mose who led his team to victory. First he kicked two penalties which made the score 7-6 at half-time and then in the second half he scored a try to give his side a lead. The try was the construction of others, leaving Mose with an easy run to score. Mose converted. 13-7.

This was part of a period of Kenyan dominance against the fading visitors but the home side's only score was a Mose penalty.
