At the Estadio Nacional Universidad Computense in Madrid on Saturday, Spain beat the touring Uruguay team 16-13 after leading 16-0 at half-time.
It was the second match of Uruguay's tour. In their first match they beat Portugal 16-9.
Spain scored all its points in the first half - two penalties by flyhalf Charlie Malie in the first five minutes, then a third penalty late in the half and a try by right wing Ryan le Roux, formerly of Eastern Province in South Africa.
The Teros then scored all their points in the second held - a penalty by Agustín Ormaechea, a try by Gastón Mieres and then a second penalty by Ormaechea.
The Uruguay coach Sabastián Piñeyra remarked on the effectiveness of the Spanish backs.
In this match captain Martín Heredia and scrumhalf Pablo Feijoo each played their 50th match for Spain.
