Morrison: Ready for Romania

Scotland will face the former eastern European giants on September 10, with few expecting Romania to manage a win from a tough-looking pool.

However Morrision claims the Scots are taking nothing for granted, with the squad focusing on the mental challenges ahead.

Morrison said: "It's never too early. We're going into the World Cup and that's the first game.

"The guys have been doing a lot of analysis on it, as much homework as possible.

"They are fairly unfamiliar opponents for us so there has to be a bit of work."

Scotland also face old foes England, Argentina and Georgia in the group stages - and Morrison revealed the mood in the training camp the Sanctuary Cove complex in Queensland is positive.

"It's a pretty tight-knit group, the guys are so close," the 28-year-old said.

"It has been consistently like that in my experience of this group.

"We are all really familiar with each other. The main core of the squad has been settled for a couple of seasons now.

"It is a really good thing the manager has brought 30 guys that know each other inside out and 30 guys that can step up and do a job."

Morrison started both of Scotland's warm-up games - the wins over Ireland and Italy - and aims to play in every pool game.

The Glasgow Warriors centre, who missed the RBS Six Nations campaign with a knee injury, said: "Every time Scotland play I want to play. It doesn't matter who we are playing against.

"When the team is announced, I want to be in it. I have worked pretty hard over the summer to get myself in peak physical condition."
