Wales captain Sam Warburton was a late withdrawal from their Six Nations clash with Scotland at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday.
The flanker had suffered a dead leg in last weekend's victory over Ireland in Dublin, but was named in Warren Gatland's starting line-up to face the Scots.
However, the Cardiff Blues back-rower was ruled out after failing a late fitness test with lock Ryan Jones taking over the captaincy.
Aaron Shingler, whose brother Steven has been at the heart of an eligibility row after being named in Scotland's Six Nations squad, came into the back row to win his first cap as Warburton's replacement at openside flanker.
