Winger Lee Jones insists Scotland can start converting chances into tries when they face France in the Six Nations.

Jones: Believes Scotland can turn chances into points

Scotland will tackle the World Cup finalists on Sunday at Murrayfield - with Andy Robinson's side having lost both of their games in the tournament so far.

Scotland created several clear chances against England before Charlie Hodgson's charge down saw them suffer a 13-6 defeat.

They then put Wales under pressure in the first half in Cardiff two weeks ago but lost 27-13 after going down to 13 men at one point in the second half.

Greig Laidlaw did manage to cross the line Scotland's first try in five internationals but it was scant reward for their efforts.

Jones, though, is convinced Scotland have the potential to run in some scores against France.

The 23-year-old said: "What I have experienced in the last two games, there is not as much space out there and defences are a lot stronger.

"It's more difficult to break down but we have created a number of chances.

"We just need to convert the chances. We have had the possession and the territory, we just need to cross the line.

"If we can fix up those small things, we will definitely compete with the best."
