NYRC Down White Plains 15-8

In what essentially became a home match for NYRC after the local parks department denied White Plains use of their field due to rain, both teams played a hard and physical game.

Like last week NYRC fell behind early to a try scored after a kick through evaded the NYRC cover defender. In response NYRC fought back and produced penalties but flyhalf Badger Denehy couldn't find his range and missed two before NYRC pressure told. Good close in work and offloading eventually put No. 8 Trevor Cassidy in for the try. Lock Jamie Bouloux then powered his way over from a penalty right before halftime, Denehy converting this one for a 12-5 halftime lead.

Both teams contributed to a tight and physical match in the second half and though White Plains may have had the edge in territory the teams traded only a penalty goal each for a final score of 15-8 NYRC.

The B-side followed up with their second win of the season including tries from second row Nick Rakov, scrumhalf Willie Dominguez and No.8 James Gettinger. Flyhalf Calvin Hayes converted one fo the tries for a 17-12 win.
