Rugby Super League Week 9 Previews

Week 9 of the Rugby Super League season has Dallas Harlequins at Old Blue New York, Old Puget Sound Beach at Chicago Griffins, San Francisco Golden Gate at Denver Barbarians, and Life University at Boston.

Dallas Harlequins at Old Blue New York
Baker Field, Columbia University, NY, 1pm EDT

The last time these teams played, Dallas (0-3-2) was in a commanding lead late in the game, before Old Blue (1-4-1) came storming back to force a tie. Despite salvaging the tie, the lack of a win knocked Old Blue out of contention in the East. The winner of this game will have the inside track to third place in the conference.

Old Puget Sound Beach at Chicago Griffins
Lake Forest, IL, 2pm Central

The first meeting of these two sides had OPSB (5-0) winning 27-15. OPSB has been on a tear since then, but the Griffins (3-3) will relish another crack at the visitors and show they can compete with the top teams in the West.

San Francisco Golden Gate at Denver Barbarians
Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Denver, CO, 4pm Mountain

San Francisco (5-1) took the first meeting of these teams by a score of 40-24, and they need a win to keep the pressure on OPSB. Denver (1-4) has played well offensively and is coming off a tough loss last week, so here is the opportunity to demonstrate some prowess in front of the home fans.

Life University at Boston, Oliver
Ames HS, North Easton, MA, 6pm Eastern

Life University (5-1) jumped all over Boston (0-4-1) early in their earlier encounter and Boston struggled to get back into the game. Life’s Tui Osborne was difficult to contain the first time around, and Boston will have to slow him down to have a better night.
