ELITE Rugby Camps is poised to deliver its brand of rugby coaching to American youths from coast to coast. In collaboration with US Sports Camps, ELITE will unveil camps in five different states, with the hopes of increasing domestic awareness for the game and exposing more young athletes to the sport.
“When we looked at the rugby camp landscape, ELITE Rugby Camps stood out because of their strong ties to USA Rugby players and coaches,” states Jason West, vice president for US Sports Camps. “It’s rare in American sports today for kids to have access to their heroes, and even more rare for those athletes to make themselves available in a true instructional setting. What an incredible opportunity for young rugby players in this country.”
ELITE Rugby Camps are scheduled at Stanford University, Dartmouth College, Adelphi University, UC San Diego, and University of Denver. A special two-day clinic is also scheduled in Houston in conjunction with the international test match between the United States and Ireland. ELITE’s curriculum places heavy emphasis on mastering fundamentals and improving overall technique. The programs are open to players of all ability levels, ages 9 – 18.
