Henson heads home

Wales star Gavin Henson, who left French Top 14 side Toulon last season, was reported on Tuesday to have signed a contract to return home and play for the Cardiff Blues.

The 29-year-old, who missed Wales' World Cup campaign with a wrist injury, is expected to be officially unveiled as a Cardiff player on Wednesday, according to the BBC.

Henson's agents, Arruga Sports, tweeted: "Congratulations to Gavin Henson for signing with Cardiff Blues... great news!"

Henson is thouught to have also held talks with his former Swansea side Ospreys before tying up a deal with Cardiff.

The centre was sidelined for the World Cup in New Zealand after undergoing surgery on a bone in his right wrist he dislocated in his country's 19-9 victory over England in August.

The two-time Grand Slam winner and former Saracens player parted company with Toulon after a brief and stormy spell at the French club.
