The Cherry and Whites, rejuvenated under the guidance of former Scarlets' boss Davies, currently sit fourth in the table, just one place and two points below the Tigers.
Gloucester came out on top when the teams met at Kingsholm earlier in the season, triumphing 27-21 with fly-half Freddie Burns scoring a fine individual try.
And Davies is well aware of how hungry Richard Cockerill's men will be to claim revenge and cement their place in the chase for a semi-final berth.
He said: "I'm sure that the Tigers will be lying in wait for us. They'll have been disappointed with the result down here, and they'll want to put that right this weekend.
"But it's a great opportunity for us, we've got ourselves into a good position. It's an away fixture for us, so most of the pressure is on them and we'll go up there to give a good account of ourselves."
Gloucester enjoyed a narrow victory over West Country rivals Exeter last weekend, and Davies has made three changes for the trip to Leicester's daunting fortress.
Huia Edmonds comes in for Darren Dawidiuk at hooker, while lock Will James and full-back Martyn Thomas also start.
Leicester have lock Geoff Parling back in their starting line-up, while fly-half Toby Flood will make his 100th Premiership appearance.
And the England number 10 believes this fixture is a vital one in the context of the Tigers' season.
"Gloucester are really sniffing around the top four this year," Flood told the club website.
"They will be around there come the end of the season so it's important for us to not only win the game but also to make sure they don't get anything from it.
"Being at home over the Christmas period and it being a full house will be fantastic for us.
"We did well to get five points against a good Irish side and we have got two more games during the Christmas period. If we can come out of those in a healthy position then it makes a big difference."
Sunday's only fixture sees second-placed Saracens take on Northampton at Vicarage Road.
