Gloucester have taken steps to make sure their Amlin Challenge Cup game this Saturday goes ahead.

The team are due to play Top 14 side Mont-de Marsan at Kingsholm; however the forecast in the West Country has led to the possibility of a frozen pitch.

The Premiership club had already placed their own covers on the pitch but they have now taken extra precautions by using special domes which mean that if the temperature does drop Gloucester have the option to further protect the surface.

A statement from Gloucester read: "With these measures in place, we're confident that Saturday's game will proceed without any problems."
