Alan Dickens: Will look after the Northampton backs

Dickens has been working with the club's academy since hanging up his boots in 2010.

Dickens, who also played scrum-half for Sale, Leeds and Saracens, will now fill in while Saints director of rugby Jim Mallinder looks to replace Grayson.

"Alan will come in and change things up a bit," Mallinder told the Northampton Chronicle and Echo.

"He's got his own ideas, he's his own man, he's doing really well with the academy and the Wanderers, who've had a great season, and we'll see how that goes.

"I'm sure Alan would love the job, and why wouldn't you?"
