London Irish kept alive their slim hopes of qualifying for the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-finals with a 20-14 victory over Mont de Marsan on Thursday night.

Scrum-half Jack Moates crossed twice for the Exiles, who closed the gap on Pool One leaders Gloucester to three points with the win.

It is still possible for Irish to reach the quarter-finals, but for that to happen, the Cherry and Whites must lose both of their remaining matches, away at Bordeaux and at home to Mont de Marsan.
