Wentzel was handed the captaincy at Kingsholm with regular skipper John Hart sidelined through injury for a lengthy spell.
The experienced lock insisted his team had already moved on from the Gloucester result ahead of welcoming the Warriors to Adams Park on Sunday.
Wentzel said: "We were all very disappointed with the game down at Gloucester and we're doing a lot of work this week looking at what went wrong and what we need to improve.
"You can't sit here and simply dwell on what went wrong last week. It was a bad loss for us for sure but I wouldn't say we were totally outplayed, we lost the game through silly errors we made and we can fix that."
Wenztel welcomed the arrival of Namibia back-row Tinus Du Plessis this week being impressed with the flanker/No 8 at training in Acton.
The South African added: "He is a very tough guy and he is fresh."
