Tait: Pleased with his new signings

Second row Boyle has joined the Falcons after impressing with the club's development team last season, while he will be joined by England Under-18s international Robinson subject to paperwork.

Boyle, 22, came through ranks at his hometown club Harrogate, before he moved to Tynedale, where his form earned him England Counties honours.

And head coach Alan Tait believes Boyle can go on to become the latest star the club has plucked from the National Leagues.

He said: "Richard has built a reputation for himself in National League One this season as an athlete, he's hard-working and a very talented second row forward.

"Richard would benefit from using Mark Wilson as an example of someone who has progressed through the ranks to become an established member of the Falcons senior squad."

Tait believes 18-year-old Robinson has the skills to progress at the Falcons.

"He is another big talent and he impressed me when he played for Sedbergh against Royal Grammar School," said Tait.

"He will definitely be suited to a professional environment where he can take his game on to another level."
