Clark: Has been banned by Northampton

Clark is due to appear before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing on March 27 after he was cited for hyperextending Rob Hawkins' right arm during the 26-14 defeat to Leicester on Sunday.

Hawkins will miss the rest of the season as a result of an injury sustained from the incident - with Clark's actions prompting an angry response from Tigers boss Richard Cockerill.

And following their own inquiry into the incident, Northampton have now take action against Clark.

A statement from the club read: "Northampton Saints has conducted an internal investigation regarding an alleged incident during last Sunday's LV= Cup final.

"Following the completion of this investigation the club's management has suspended Calum Clark from playing until further notice.

"Northampton Saints will make no further comment about this issue."

Clark's form this season had seen him called in to England's elite squad for the RBS Six Nations, although he failed to make an appearance.
