    TMO controversy - Foul play

    In the match between Ireland and Italy, the referee refers an incident to the television match official, asking him if a try had been scored and asking him to be aware of the possibility of foul play. The TMO reports that try had not been scored and that there had been no foul play in in-goal. The referee awards a drop-out to Italy.

    The big result in this round was that absorbing, then thrilling one-try match in the wind and the rain - Argentina vs Georgia.     Craig Joubert replaces Jonathan Kaplan in Dublin though the news is good that Kaplan's rehab if good enough to have him running again and in a positive frame of mind. In all four of the World Cup referees are in action this weekend - Joubert, George Clancy, Dave Pearson and Romain Poite.

    The Tri-Nations moves to Durban for Round 3 and an ever-growing band of officials, some of whom are given here. There are also matches warming up for the World Cup. Jonathan Kaplan was to have refereed Wales-England at Millennium Stadium but he is recovering from injury and his place is taken by Alain Rolland.
