Its a busy week here in the City of Glendale, and particularly at Infinity Park as the tension builds ahead of tomorrow's re-match against Canada. On Wednesday the Eagles squad players had a runout against Division 1 Men's Club Champions Glendale Raptors, a 58-10 win for the Eagles and a spirited performance by the home side.
On Wednesday I kicked off the Director of Rugby Course, 150 coaches registered, its a good job the Infinity Park Conference Centre can accommodate such large groups. Its not for me to say whether the coaches are liking it or not, but they came back on Thursday and hopefully they will be there today!
Yesterday we worked on some skill development coaching, the Eagles coaches came and presented on their specialist areas, Defense (Mike Tolkin), Analysis and forward play (Dave Hodges), Contact (Dan Payne), kicking (Chris O'Brien) and then we were joined by Head Coach Eddie O'Sullivan for a Q&A about all thing Eagles and Rugby World Cup.
Today we have Al Caravelli kicking us off with a talk on sevens rugby, Paul Keeler will be presenting on how to build a successful rugby club and then in the afternoon we are joined by Craig White, the British Lions, Wales and former ireland strength and conditioning coach for a discussion on HP Conditioning.
Today the USA Rugby Board hold their quarterly meeting, the Congress will meet all day tomorrow prior to the game, and all kinds of people are rolling into town for the weekend. We have the Classic Eagles playing Canada as a curtain raiser tomorrow, this will be a lot of fun and today the Classic Eagles undergo Rookie Rugby coach education, they will be available to coach kids going forward, who better to explain what the game is all about - well done guys!!
The Women's National team play their final Nations Cup game this weekend in Canada, we are expecting a big win against the South Africans - Go Eagles!!
If you can get to Denver for tomorrows game you will be in for a treat..see you there...
