During the past two weekends, Scott Lawrence, Head Coach of the Junior All American's held camps in Atlanta and San Francisco to assess talent ahead of a busy year for the team. I had the pleasure of catching up with them at the San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club and took the opportunity to assess the scrum halves on show. It was good to see a number of former Eagles in attendance helping the players with their development and sharing their experiences with our younger players.

This was a strong group of players, and great to see these young men working so hard on their skills.

With an impressive resume as player, coach and administrator, Nigel David Melville took over as CEO and President of Rugby Operations of USA Rugby, the National Governing Body of the sport in America, in 2006.  In addition to his full time job promoting the sport in the U.S., Melville has launched his own blog, Nigel Melville Direct, to further the discussion and his passion for what it will take to make the U.S. a great rugby playing nation.
