Canada a hit with local fans

Scores of New Zealand school children from the Northland region gathered at Kerikeri Domain for an open training session by the Canadian Rugby World Cup squad.

The training session could well have been mistaken for a fan day, as the team were cheered on as they ran onto the field and gave high fives as they ran past a sea of supporters dressed in red.

"It was pretty cool to get that kind of attention for the team," fly-half Nathan Hirayama said. "It just shows how big rugby is here in New Zealand."
