The BYU Cougars tallied a total of 15 tries against the Rams of Colorado State and converted on 11 of the tries to run away for a final score of 97-7 tonight.
The BYU scoring spree saw 11 different players dot down on the night. The Cougars were led in scoring by flanker Hynie Leaatoa who wore the unfamiliar No. 8 jersey for an absent team captain Ryan Roundy.
Leaaetoa scored a total of 3 tries while wing Will Taylor and prop Ray Forrester who each tallied a pair of tries for the Cougars.

The Rams lone try came in the waning moments of the game as the CSU prop bullied his way past the BYU defense to score. The Rams converted the try to remove the impending shutout.
Despite the one-way traffic of the game BYU match-day captain Dylan Lubbe said the Cougars defense was stout throughout the game.
"We pride ourselves on our defense," Lubbe said, "We did a good job keeping everything in front of us and making our one-on-one tackles. The guys did a good job defensively which led to some good opportunities in attack."
The big win against CSU was the second highest scoring victory for BYU behind the Cougars 101-0 win over Missouri back in February. But the 66 point first half was the most of any game all year.
With the win BYU head coach David Smyth said his team started well and is improving.
"We came out fast which was nice to see," Smyth said, "We were able to rotate a lot of guys through tonight which was also good. The continuity we saw from 1st XV to reserves was good. So the hard work in practice is starting show."
BYU next moves on to Laramie, Wyoming for a Saturday match-up against the University of Wyoming Cowboys. Kick-off is set for 1pm on the East Mall of the campus fraternity row.
