Women's Pools for College 7s National Championship

The 16 teams that will take part in the 2012 USA Rugby Women’s College College Sevens National Championship at Texas A&M University from November 30 to December 1 will be grouped into four pools of four teams as follows:

POOL A

Norwich
Stanford
Ohio State
Sam Houston State

POOL B

Navy
Harvard
Colorado
Northern Iowa

POOL C

Texas
California
Boston College
Oklahoma

POOL D

Oregon State
Princeton
James Madison
Texas Tech

Play on Friday will consist of round robin matches between teams in the same pool. No extra time will be played in pool matches.  Competition points will be awarded for these matches on the following basis:

Win = 3 points         Tie = 2 points          Loss = 1 point

Position in the pool standings shall be determined by competition points as set out above. During the Saturday Elimination Matches, in the event of a Match being tied at the end of normal time, extra time will be played until a winner is determined.

The four pool winners and the four pool runners-up with the most competition points will advance to the Cup Quarterfinals and play across pools. The four winners will go on to the Cup Semi-finals; the four losers will go on to the Plate Semi-finals.

The bottom four pool finishers based on competition points will compete in the Bowl Quarterfinals and play across pools.

The duration of matches, other than the Championship Finals, will be seven minutes each half with a two- minute half time interval. The duration of the two finals will be 10 minutes each half with a three-minute half-time interval.
