Brain: New role

Gloucester have appointed their former assistant coach John Brain as the the club's new rugby operations manager.

Brain has worked with the Aviva Premiership club this season in a scouting capacity.

He made almost 300 appearances for Gloucester, and worked as coaching assistant to Frenchman Philippe Saint-Andre before taking up head coaching roles with Worcester and then Bristol.

Reporting to Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath, Brain's new role will still encompass scouting but also include contract negotiations and responsibility for playing department budgets.
