Murray: Pleased with World Cup form so far

The British and Irish Lions tighthead was a key performer as Scotland beat Georgia 15-6 in Invercargill on Wednesday, four days after the opening bonus-point victory over Romania.

Murray is set to miss next Sunday's crucial showdown with Argentina in Wellington due to his religious beliefs, but played down his performance in a rejuvenated pack which dominated against Georgia after struggling against Romania.

The 31-year-old Newcastle Falcons prop said: "I think it was all right.

"I'm just one of eight in the pack and the rest of them need me to do my job and I need everyone around me to do their jobs.

"It's very much a team game. We were pleased with how we played."

Following two games in five days, Scotland are in the midst of a prolonged build-up to the clash with the Pumas, where victory would extend their record of progressing from the group phase at every World Cup tournament.

Murray, who won his 40th cap against Georgia, added: "I think it (the break) is good for us. We had a tight turnaround down in Invercargill and we got nine points out of it.

"We're very pleased with that - that was phase one completed.

"We've moved north and we're looking forward to two big games coming up.

"We've got a wee bit more time to rest after those bruising encounters down south and to work hard for the next two."

Murray is thoroughly enjoying his second World Cup.

He added: "It's just good fun. You're playing in the biggest tournament in the world - it's great to be part of it."
