Duncan Weir racked up 20 points as Scotland A claimed a 35-0 win over England Saxons at Galashiels on Friday.

Weir: scored 20 points

The Glasgow Warriors fly-half kicked 15 points and added a try after Stuart Hogg's solo effort had put the home side in control.

Weir was on target with a penalty in the 10th minute, and the visitors were left stunned soon after when Hogg jinked his way out of a tackle to cruise in for five points.

Saxons skipper James Gaskell was sin-binned for a high tackle as Weir doubled his penalty count before the interval, and it got even better for Scotland's second string in the second half.

In the 51st minute, Weir shrugged off two challenges to jog in under the posts and he was soon at it again with the boot to stretch the lead to 23-0.

The Saxons continued to defend poorly, and late scores from Rory Lawson and Matt Scott added a gloss to the scoreline - with Weir converting the latter.
