Alex Goode has declared that England must respect France when the two sides meet at Twickenham this Saturday, despite the French suffering defeat in both games so far.

England go into the game on the back of two wins from two, against Scotland and Ireland, and are the only side still able to claim the Grand Slam.

But despite France's disastrous start to the campaign, Goode is well aware of the threat Les Bleus pose in the capital.

He told Sky Sports: "They are unpredictable, but they have got a lot of quality players who play in top sides, who are going well in Europe as much as their league, and we have to be at the top of our game.

"They have had great results in the autumn, they won all three games so they are a good side and we have to be very wary of them."

The talented full-back has made a big impact in the England camp in the past year, making six appearances, including a determined performance in the stand-out 38-21 victory of New Zealand - a result which Goode believes triggered their recent good form.

He added: "I think on the back of the New Zealand game it was a big confidence boost in what we were doing, that we had quality in the side and everything was going in the right direction.

"Coming into the six nations everyone wanted to be back in fighting for places. There is a lot of quality here and everyone has taken to the task and worked really hard."

Goode also paid tribute to Saracens team-mates Joel Tomkins and Will Fraser, who have both earned themselves call-ups to the England squad ahead of the France game.

He said: "It's great to have so many Saracens players involved, obviously the clubs going well at the moment and the more players we can get involved, in the England set-up, the better."
