Former England international Josh Lewsey has been appointed acting chief executive and performance director for the Cornish Pirates.
Lewsey will join the Championship club on a consultancy basis between April and September after Rod Coward announced he will be stepping aside as chief executive at the end of the month.
Lewsey, a member of England's 2003 World Cup-winning team, pursued a career in the city with Price Waterhouse Coopers and Citibank after retiring as a player.
A club statement said: "He has won every trophy available in rugby but now has also achieved recognition as a business leader, where his work for both PwC and Citibank on various strategy, structure and cultural projects lends itself favourably to some of our current challenges."
Lewsey, who has a house in St Agnes, will review the club's on-field, marketing and commercial performance.
He has agreed to liaise with key stakeholders over the stadium development, establish "a clear brand strategy" for the club and assist with the search for a new full-time chief executive.
