Jones reveals who his money is on

Former Wallaby and World Cup-winning Springbok assistant coach Eddie Jones doesn't believe travel fatigue will be a factor in the Super Rugby Final.

Despite the Crusaders having to travel back to Australasia, from South Africa, Jones believes they'll edge the Reds in Brisbane.

Suncorp is expected to host 52 000 spectators on Saturday for the Super Rugby Final, the biggest attendance for a provincial match in the country since 1907.

In addition to the crowd support, the visitors will be up against science as they travel east to Brisbane - which is physically tougher than travelling west, which is what they did for the semifinal.

The odds are weighed against the Kiwis, but they have been for the entire season. They haven't had one home game and haven't faced the two weakest sides in the South African and Australian conferences - the Lions and Rebels.

"The Crusaders will be able to get up for the final," Jones told this website.

"At half-time of the semi, it was noticeable how they ran off the field and backed their fitness. You would expect a travelling side to try conserve every bit of energy, but they weren't concerned about it.

"The final 20 minutes of the final could hurt them, with all the accumulated travel (more than 100,000km over the tournament). It's significant that the two best conditioned teams are in the final."

The Saders and Reds were convincing winners in the semis, and Jones noted parallels between the victories.

"There were great similarities in both matches.

"The sides that got beaten were deep and lateral on attack and tried to beat the opposition on the outside. Intercept tries set the Reds and Saders on their way to victory. The two winners also kicked the most.

"The Stormers will be disappointed with the result. No doubts they had a good season based on their defence and line-out, but their two weaknesses - their attack and scrum - haunted them again. They need a tighthead desperately."
