Predictably the two teams from the Final, the Reds and Crusaders, provide the bulk of our Team of the Tournament. But will you agree with all our selections?

Judging by the vociferous debating during our selection meeting, this is not going to be a universally popular team. But then no team ever is.

We have Six of the victorious Reds in our starting XV and another two Bubbling Under. You could make a case for a few others.

The Crusaders have five players 'starting' and five Bubbling Under - another contentious point.

The Blues (two), Waratahs and Stormers (one each) make up the numbers in the starting XV. The Blues, Cheetahs  (two each), Stormers, Western Force, Sharks and Highlanders are also represented in the Bubbling Under team.

This team is based on who we felt performed best throughout the season, but we also bring your a list of the players who most often featured in our Team of the Week.

He faded badly in the latter stages of the season and was no factor in the Final, but most of our selectors felt he did enough during the season.

The real general in the Reds' team.

His leadership, in the absence of Richie McCaw, was just as influential on as his own game.

This was a tough call and involved plenty of debate.

6 - Scott Higginbotham (Reds):
His tireless work rate and physical presence is what got the Reds on the front foot so often.

5 - Ali Williams (Blues):
Welcome back old man, you still have it! Andries Bekker played himself out of contention with some shocking late season form, even though some selectors felt he had done enough in the early stages.

Another veteran who made time stand still.

3 - Owen Franks (Crusaders):
One of the bearded wonders. But it was his rugby, not his facial features, that impressed us most.

2 - Keven Mealamu (Blues):
Another highly debatable selection, but the Blues did advance further than the Sharks.
