Front row blow for Wallabies

Wallabies prop Benn Robinson limped off the training pitch with a knee injury on Tuesday, joining a number of senior players on the sidelines as Australia gear up for their clash with Samoa this weekend.

Robinson injured himself while setting off for a run at the team's base in Sydney and immediately iced the knee concerned, he will be further assessed by the team doctor later this evening.

Wallabies skipper Rocky Elsom and star loose forward David Pocock trained seperately from the main group as they continue to manage niggling injuries.

Despite the fact that Elsom was restricted to light training officials are confident that he has overcome his ankle injury and will be available for selection, while Pocock continues to manage a foot injury he picked up during the Super Rugby season.

Reds players Quade Cooper, Will Genia, James Horwill, Scott Higginbotham and the Faingaa twins all sat out the training session on Tuesday as Deans stays true to his promise to give some Queensland players a rest following their appearance in the Super Rugby Final last week.

Another point of interest at the training session was veteran Mark Gerrard running at fullback despite a fit and fresh Kurtley Beale taking part, which suggests that Beale will be named in the No.10 jersey for the match against Samoa this weekend as Cooper is given a rest ahead of the opening Tri-Nations fixture against the Springboks on July 23.
