Jansen blow for Griquas

A hand injury to left wing Rocco Jansen has forced Griquas coach Abré Minnie to bring SA Sevens legend Fabian Juries into the starting line-up for their match against the Lions this weekend.

Jansen, who impressed by scoring two tries in the season opener against Western Province at Newlands last weekend, will be out for the next six to eight weeks with a fractured hand - the latest in an unfortunate run of injuries.

The rest of the team that managed to draw 26-26 with the Cape side last week has been retained and the Griquas will be out to put in a good performance in their first home game of the season against a Lions outfit that only narrowly avoided defeat to the Pumas last week.

Griquas: 15 Riaan Viljoen, 14 Richard Lawson, 13 Wilmaure Louw, 12 Barry Geel, 11 Fabian Juries, 10 Monty Dumont, 9 Shannon Rick, 8 Jonathan Mokuena (captain), 7 Davon Raubenheimer, 6 Justin Downey, 5 Martin Muller, 4 Hendrik Roodt, 3 Lourens Adriaanse, 2 Ryno Barnes, 1 Steph Robberts.
