Castres have recruited South African Rory Kockott from the Lions to act as cover for their injured scrumhalf Thierry Lacrampe, the French Top 14 side announced on Friday.
The 25-year-old Kockott has signed a temporary contract to fill in during the time it takes Lacrampe to return to full fitness, estimated at three months.
But he could stay on longer "if things goes well", forwards coach Laurent Travers said.
