The FNB Classic Clash between the two Kroonstad rivals, Rooiskool and Blouskool, was an absolute cracker decided by a try in the dying moments which gave Rooiskool a 17-13 victory at Hoërskool Kroonstad.
Both sides agreed that it was a wonderful match on a wonderful day and played in an excellent before a crowd of some 7,000 in beautiful weather.
It was a match that both sides wanted desperately to win, as is the case with such derbies. Win that and your season is made.
Blouskool were leading 13-9 when burly flyhalf François van Biljon dropped a goal to make it 13-12 and then Rooiskool's fullback Stefan Schoeman scored the winning try.
The schools were balanced and probably the difference between the two was the remarkably play of François van Biljon, the Griffons' flyhalf at Craven Week.
This is the Afrikaanse Hoërskool's fourth successive win.
