Kanko: It's time to bounce back

Springbok loose forward Ryan Kankowski believes this weekend's Test against the All Blacks offers the perfect chance to reduce the error count and end the tour on a high note.

The Boks made after too many costly mistakes during their 39-20 loss to Australia last weekend, but have another chance to redeem themselves against the No.1 ranked team in the world on Saturday.

"Where better to rectify the [mistakes from defeat against Australia] than against the All Blacks and we'll take a good hard look at ourselves and we have to pick it up," Kankowski said.

"It's a tough competition we can't afford to make the kind of mistakes we made against Australia.

"Unfortunately we played against a brilliant Aussie side that punished us on the weekend."

The 25-year-old will continue to fight for a place in the World Cup squad after he came on off the bench against the Wallabies, and was relieved to find out he wouldn't need to shift into the second row.

"The guys joked that I should get the headband on for lock," Kankowski said with a chuckle.

"I've been running there [at lock] for the week, but they've brought Gerhard Mostert in to cover lock and I'm very happy about that."
