Sharks sweating over Test stars

Sharks coach John Plumtree is sweating over the fitness of two of his Test stars ahead of their Currie Cup crunch match against the Free State Cheetahs in Durban on Saturday.

Springbok Marius Joubert and French star Frederic Michalak faces late fitness tests and have been bracketed in with Stefan Terblanche and Jacques-Louis Potgieter at centre and flyhalf respectively.

The uncertainty over their availability means Heimar Williams and Gouws Prinsloo have been drafted into the team as cover.

Joubert went over on his ankle in the fortuitous 23-22 win over the Pumas last week, while Michalak has a hamstring twinge.

The defending Currie Cup champions, the Sharks, went unbeaten in all nine their home games in the competition last year and hope to make Kings Park a fortress again.

However, the Cheetahs - who narrowly lost 30-33 to the Blue Bulls in Pretoria last week, will be determined to get their campaign back on track.
