Sharks bench their Boks

Sharks coach John Plumtree resisted the temptation to rush his returning Springboks back into the starting XV, and has kept the faith in his young side for their trip to Kimberley.

The only change to the side that started last weekend's match against the Cheetahs in Durban is at lock, where Jan Andre Marais comes in the replace the injured Ross Skeate (groin), who left the field early in the first half during the 43-34 victory.

Plumtree has resisted the temptation to use lock Alistair Hargreaves, who played in the Boks tour matches. Instead Marais partners Anton Bresler in the second row, while his namesake Peet is on the bench.

However, Ryan Kankowski, Charl McLeod and Pat Lambie have all been included on the bench for the match and could add great value later in the game.

Wings Odwa Ndungane and Lwazi Mvovo have both missed out following excellent performances from incumbents Mark Richards and Sibusiso Sithole against the Cheetahs.

Sharks: 15 Louis Ludik, 14 Mark Richards, 13 Stefan Terblanche, 12 Meyer Bosman, 11 Sibusiso Sithole, 10 Frederic Michalak, 9 Ross Cronje, 8 Keegan Daniel (captain), 7 Marcell Coetzee, 6 Jacques Botes, 5 Jan Andre Marais, 4 Anton Bresler, 3 Wiehahn Herbst, 2 Craig Burden, 1 Dale Chadwick.
