Jones eyes Wales caps record

Stephen Jones is set to becomes Wales' most-capped player after being named in the starting line-up for the side to play England at Twickenham in their World Cup warm-up match on Saturday.

The Scarlets flyhalf and ace goal-kicker will win his 101st cap at Twickenham, putting him one ahead of Welsh legend Gareth Thomas.

Elsewhere in the backline Wales coach Warren Gatland has awarded caps to fullback Rhys Priestland and 19-year-old right wing George North, but there is no place in the matchday squad for controversial centre Gavin Henson who will have to wait to press his claims for a place in Wales' 30-man World Cup squad.

Skipper Matthew Rees will not take part due to a neck injury and his place at hooker is taken by Huw Bennett, while flank Sam Warburton will assume the captaincy reins.

After Twickenham, Wales host England in Cardiff on Saturday week before concluding their warm-up campaign at home to Argentina seven days later.

Gatland plans to name the final 30-man squad that will travel to his native New Zealand for the World Cup on August 22.
