Ebersohn the danger man?

In the wake of Province's 35-7 victory over the Blue Bulls there is a lot of optimism surrounding the team, but a Springbok-clad Cheetahs outfit will offer an bigger challenge on Saturday.

"The guys are excited about the challenge of playing against a number of Springboks and to test themselves against some of the best in the country," Western Province backline coach Robbie Fleck told this website.

"We know that by no means, are we anywhere near the complete performance we're capable of yet."

A willingness to attack has been the theme of the Cheetahs this year, which could provide an open running game with a lot of scoring opportunities.

"They [the Cheetahs] have changed their mindset from a team that looked to suffocate you, to a team that puts you under pressure through attacking rugby and they force you to make a lot of tackles," Fleck explained.

"Both sides are looking to play an attractive attacking brand of rugby and that willingness to run the ball is great."

However, the former Bok centre has identified Robert Ebersohn as the major threat in the Cheetahs line-up.

"He [Ebersohn] could have just taken a break for one more week and that would have been perfect!" Fleck joked.

"Robert is a great player and is the king pin on both attack and defence together with Andries Strauss.

"A lot of the Cheetahs' play revolves around him and will make a bigger influence on their side than the returning Springboks."

The young Province centres out-classed Bulls pair Stefan Watermeyer and Stephan Dippenaar last weekend, and must raise their game once again to get the better of a tough Cheetahs midfield.

"It will be a true measure of where Tim Whitehead and Johann Sadie are as a combination against Strauss and Ebersohn," Fleck said.
