Pumas ring the changes for Blue Bulls

Pumas coach Jimmy Stonehouse has rung the changes for his side's clash with the Blue Bulls in Nelspruit this weekend in response to their convincing defeat to the Leopards last week.

The Pumas are the only team in the Currie Cup yet to record a victory this season, so Stonehouse's charges will be desperate to repeat their surprise defeat of the Blue Bulls in Nelspruit last year when they entertain the team from Pretoria in their bottom-of-the-table clash at the Mbombela Stadium on Friday.

In the backline Carl Bezuidenhout gets an opportunity to impress at fullback where he replaces MJ Mentz who moves to the left wing in place of Shandre Frolick who drops out of the match-day squad altogether.

Tiaan Meyer will start at inside centre where he replaces utility back Tiaan Marx who moves to the replacements bench. Ricardo Croy comes back into the team at flyhalf, with last week's pivot Coenie van Wyk missing out.

In the only change in the forward pack lock Rudi Mathee moves to the bench to make way for Eduan van der Walt who will want to strike up a solid second row partnership with stalwart Marius Coetzer.

Pumas: 15 Carl Bezuidenhout, 14 Deon Scholtz, 13 JW Jonker, 12 Tian Meyer, 11 MJ Mentz, 10 Ricardo Croy, 9 Shaun Venter, 8 Christo le Roux, 7 Jaco Bouwer, 6 Corne Steenkamp (captain), 5 Marius Coetzer, 4 Eduan van der Walt, 3 Ashley Buys, 2 Marthinus van der Westhuizen, 1 Dawie Steyn.
