This FNB Classic Clash is the biggest schools match in Kimberley and one of the biggest in South Africa. Of course, it will be a great day in Kimberley.
Noord-Kaap have been having an excellent season and are ranked sixth on the FNB Top 20 and the improving Diamantveld are ranked 11th. Last week we had 16th beating third. Anything can happen when 11th play sixth.
Results against common opponents
Framesby: Diamantveld won 47-10, Noord-Kaap 28-16
Marlow: Diamantveld lost 28-25; Noord-Kaap won 14-6
Sentraal (Bloemfontein): Diamantveld won 26-20, Noord-Kaap 40-5
No Diamantveld achievement could equal Noord-Kaap's victory over Affies. Any team that can beat Affies can beat anybody.
The Kimberley schools play their rugby in Griqualand West. That is their province for Craven Week, the Academy Week, Grant Khomo Week and so on. Both Schools are amply represented.
Provincial representation
Craven Week
Diamantveld: Boetie Maketlo, Jean McLean, Pieter Scholtz, LP Potgieter, Graham de Reuck, Elrico Fielies, Granville Adams, Adriaan Smit, Herman Scholtz, Curtley Kiewiet - 10 in all.

(There was just one in the Griqua side not from these two schools - Emile Jansen of Homevale.)
Academy Week
Diamantveld: AJ Jaquire, André Roberts, Ronaldo Abrahams
Noord-Kaap: Gilbert Chalmers, Henco Olivier
In addition Noord-Kaap had Berné Bergh who was at the 2010 Craven Week and Gerhard Roux and, Waldo Botha who play for Griquas Under-19.
Pukke chose an Under-19 side from the teams at their week and they included Nico van der Westhuizen, Stephen de Pradines, Ruan Roets and Eddie Rall from Diamantveld.
That is a lot of representatives from two schools. It would suggest that this is a contest between two classy teams.
