Lorenzo Nel - Captain of Gill College

He may have been there and done it twice before, but Gill College skipper Lorenzo Nel is not taking Saturday's FNB Classic Clashes game against Hoƫrskool Cradock lightly.

"We've been focused on this game for the last two weeks. We've been practicing our tackling, as Cradock plays with their forward line," Nel said.

"So our gameplan is take their forwards head-on."

The flank admits that he is slightly optmistic over their chances of repeating last year's win over Cradock, as they have had a better season than their opponents.

"If we compare our sides, Gill have a had a better season (than Cradock) as we've beaten sides they've lost to. We're also only lost one game in our league, to Union High," Nel told classicclashes.co.za.

"We've also been motivated by the atmosphere at school," he added, "the feel-good factor we have at the moment is attracting a lot of support our way."

The 18-year old is a massive Western Province supporter and says that Schalk Burger is one of his favourite players.

He did though laugh off any comparison between the two, saying that while he was quick on the field, for a flank, he was more concerned about his tackling.

"I'm not the best flank around, nor a typical ball-carrier either," Nel quipped.

The matric student has not quite nailed down what he wants to do after school, but is certain that he wants to attend a tertiaty institute in Bloemfontein.
