Dewald Potgieter has joined fellow Springbok loose forward Deon Stegmann as a non-starter for Friday's Currie Cup clash against Griquas in Pretoria.

Team doctor Org Strauss confirmed that Stegmann, who suffered a fractured cheekbone against the Pumas, will only play in a month's time.

Potgieter, who suffered a badly broken nose against the Lions two weeks ago, also had it surgically repaired and will not be able to play on the weekend.

Werner Kruger, Akona Ndungane, Gary Botha, Wynand Olivier and Bjorn Basson did not train on Monday, but will be fit to play, Strauss said.

Gerhard van den Heever and Ruan Snyman are still out with shoulder and chest injuries, but will resume training next week.
